open your minecraft.jar file with an archiver (winrar, 7-zip)
find the file "items.png" under the "gui" folder.
pull that image out, then using an image editor that DOESN'T REMOVE TRANSPARANCIES erase the tools on that (and nothing else!) and copypaste the image you downloaded into that image. It should replace that section of the image with the new weapons.
save the file with the new weapons in the sprite sheet then put that file back into the .jar, close your archiver and load up minecraft. your weapons should now look like the ones above.
if they're big white squares it's because you didn't read what I said above about transparancies.
and besides that you can easily get my email address by simply perusing my profile page or, I dunno, reading my old journals where I posted an email address for bug reporting in my texture pack I released.
seriously, I mean...GAH, how can you struggle so much with things like this? It's mind boggling. Learn to learn is the only advice I can offer anymore.
plus there's OC, paint.net and Photoshop
that image is what it uses to generate the items in game, if nothing happened it's because you didn't save it properly.
also the stone tools look exactly the same, I only modified iron gold diamond and wood
alright...how about this, PM me a copy of your "items.png" file and I'll edit it manually for you.
what is your email?
don't you have dropbox or mediafire?
